Chris asks…
Whts is this??????? A trick for hacking or viruses or a joke??? OR A REALITY????
I hv got an e-mail saying dat bill gates is distributing his fortune. He will identify each user who forwardes dat mail to anyone and chks if he/she is using windows os. If yes then microsoft contacts u and sends a sum of 300$ for each mail u send to someone.
It says dat its an event to promote use of internet explorer. Also testimonials of some people are given in the mail. It contains no attatchments and links. So if any viruses are supposed to attack the system then how????

Forex Guide answers:
Most of the time, those e-mails that want you to forward them are trying to gather as many e-mail address that they can, then they spam the heck out of all of the people on that list. Spam it immediately and don’t pass it on. If one person on that list has a computer infected with spyware, they will get all of you.

Maria asks…
Google Money Master questions..?
So I’ve seen that it only costs about $2 or so dollars to get started. I’ve also read that there is a $70-80 monthly charge. So how does that work exactly? Every month after you get billed from them? I also wanted to know more about how it works. I’ve read plenty of articles and positive testimonials that talk about how great it is and how much $ you can be making, but what sort of things are included in the starter kit? Obviously it’s something you’ve gotta put a decent amount of time into, so what exactly do you do in that time?
And if you are a user, how about sharing a story? How long it was before you got your first check, and how much that was? Thanks.

Forex Guide answers:
Hey, hate to say this, but these are scams, abusing the name of Google, while they are actually not at all connected to Google… They promise you alot, and when you take a look at it, it seems as if it could work, but it doesn’t. Besides that, they charge you a few dollars only for the welcome packet, and then 79dollars or something every month thereafter. You can read more about these types of scams in the article below. The only genuine way to earn money online via Google is through their Adsense system, which is FREE to subscribe to. Adsense is the system where you put ads from Google on your website, and get paid a small amount of money for each of your visitors who clicks an ad. Many visitors, means many clicks, and thus more money.
Adsense can earn you quite some money, but it does take alot of effort and time.

Daniel asks…
I want to host my web site… who to go with?
I’m a contractor / remodeler looking to provide a website for my clients to get some background info… and most importantly, to view pictures of all the different remodels I have done. I’ve looked at hostmonster and hostgator. I already have a domain which I got through yahoo some time ago… but they want too much to keep the domain going through them. I see that hostmonster will transfer my domain (free of charge?). I plan to use their tools to build my website using their templates, etc… My main concern is reliability that the website will not have issues. I have lots of photos and testimonials and just want an inexpensive way to provide this info to my customers. What has been your experience with them and which one is more user friendly. I’m pretty capable and know my way around a computer… but wanted to get some feedback from others who have gone down this road.
I’m not set on gator or monster as of yet. I’m open to whichever site will provide me with a large variety of tools to customize my website and put my own twists on it.
Thanks!
What about justhost.com? Any users that can comment?

Forex Guide answers:
I’ve used HostGator.com for a couple of years and I’m happy with it. I just transfered some domains from Yahoo! To HostGator. Yahoo! Wanted $34.95 US per year to keep the DNS there. I transfered to HostGator for $15.00 for each domain and I believe that this includes adding another year to each domain name, in addition to how much time you already have for each domain.
You can try HostGator for free. I suggest the account that costs $9.95 when paid monthly. You get A LOT for just a little. They have good 24/7 support via Web chat.
I could help you with HostGator for free because if you keep the service, I would get a finder’s fee.
If you want me to assist you with HostGator, you could mention my primary domain and I would get a finder’s fee.
Primary domain: kaydell.com

Which is better ISP? Verizon or at&t?
I would like to subscribe an ISP.I see many ISPs.Which one is better? Can you help me to recommend?
I live in Los Angeles. . .
Note : User Experience is top priority.
Testimonial is permitted. . .

Forex Guide answers:
If you are going with DSL you will definitely want to look into Verizon FiOS. It offers fiber optics all the way to your home. The key is if it is available in your area. From what I have heard, and this is the industry i’m in, there is a better customer experience with Verizon. Not to knock at&t’s service at all.
If you are on the fence, you may want to check out Verizon’s online only plans that include the 1st month free. The resource below has a good comparison between the two.

Sharon asks…
Teens only please; If I invent/sell an “AcneBgone Pillowcase” would you buy it?
I have patented a pillowcase that contains medicines that keep your face oil and dirt free….they clean you face of acne causing oil and dirt while you sleep…they also contain a dry form of the same medicine in Proactive …. everything is in dry formulation so you dont have to worry about it getting in your eyes or your mouth…and the pillow cases are cheap and disposable so you just throw it in the trash and replace it with a new one every three days max…or every day of you want…a months supply would cost only $29 for 15 pillowcases.
Would you buy it if you saw it on tv with testimonials from doctors and users that have tried it and showed before and after pics of cleared up acne…???
It would eliminate having to worry about putting creams and sh** on your face and it will just do all the work for you while you sleep…and it will smell nice and be comfy…not wet or anything…and the medicine would only be on the side that faces you ..no medicine would get on the pillow inside…what do you think? Would you buy this?
You may not realize it but studies have shown that you toss and turn and reposition all night long….it would give an even wash.

I saw it at an ABC today.

David asks…
Aren’t followers of religions the true bigots on R&S?
Definition bigoted:obstinately convinced of the superiority or correctness of one’s own opinions and prejudiced against those who hold different opinions : a bigoted group of reactionaries.
At least to me, this sounds like the definition of religion lol. Agree, Disagree?

Forex Guide answers:
No because not all religious people – and not all religions – are like that.
I don’t think there’s any such thing as “one true god” or “one true religion,” I don’t try to force my beliefs on anyone, I don’t resort to name-calling or meanness to make my points, and I freely admit that there is no proof for any religious claim and that I could be wrong about any or all of it.
Of course, I’m a polytheist… I have no problem with the coexistence of multiple ideas and world views so long as people leave me in peace.

Mary asks…
Why does one have to be white to be a redneck?
I’m black, Christian, patriotic, southern, and country. Wouldn’t this be enough to make me a redneck? I know plenty of black people like me so why has this been painted out to just be a white thing? I guess that depends on what your definition of “redneck” is though. The word redneck can also be negative-meaning narrow minded or a reactionary gun nut. But once again, those characteristics transcend race.

Forex Guide answers:
Redneck is the same thing as the “N” word, people just use it for color and negatively, even though you hear what it means; there isn’t a color to them. It is just, people assume that they have color to them. I know a lot of black rednecks from the south, they dip, like hunting, NASCAR, listen to country music, southern Baptist and drive trucks. Oh and don’t forget watches American football while drinking a beer. *smiles* I would say don’t worry about putting a label on yourself and just be who you are and be proud redneck and black. *smiles*

Robert asks…
Why do liberals support radically conservative Islamic states?
So liberals are obviously leftist by definition of the political spectrum. If you’re intellectually honest, then you have to admit the state sponsors of terrorism are actually extreme right in their reactionary views to keep their countries centuries behind the rest of the Progressive movement (women’s rights, voters’ rights, legal system, secularization, etc.). So why do the Liberals act like Ahmadinejad is their best friend? Is it just their hatred of the current administration?
a few examples:
Liberals hold Support Palestine rallies vice supporting the only functioning democracy in the middle east, Israel;
Liberals often deny the War on Terror’s necessity, and often echo Michael Moore’s thoughts that 9/11 was either a conspiracy or such a rarity that chances are: he has nothing to worry about;
the ACLU sued an airport recently to establish prayer rooms for only Muslims so that they can honor their prayer schedule, but seek to eliminate prayer and any religious themed articles from every other part of public life…
Dingdong, quite the appropriate name for someone with answers like that… listing a bunch of countries is not providing any evidence of state-sponsored terrorism. You must not understand the word if you think that any actions by the United States are terrorism…
I don’t think it’s senseless to question why those with a purported leftist ideology would support the causes of patently extreme rightists…
Personally, I consider myself libertarian as I am ideologically opposed to the fundamental premise of government controlling anything… Is that the “only valid” spectrum because you say so? The 1-d “political” spectrum is based on the presupposition that government exists and therefore anarchy and libertarians are outside of that spectrum. The political spectrum has socialist communism on one end and fascism on the other. The far left is called “Radical” and the far right is called “Reactionary.” In calling them “radical conservative,” I used the more banal term radical meaning extreme, not politically Radical. If you redefine the spectrum to 2-d with room for anarchy and libertarians, then you’d have the Pournelle Chart… Since you apparently aren’t familiar with the many different spectra out there, here’s a link to start your research: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_spectrum
Fester, if you actually READ what I wrote, wikipedia was not my source at all… It was a recommendation as a start for researching political spectra…

Laura asks…
The Myth Of Modernity?
Each successive generation inherits the practices, traditions and beliefs of its predecessors. It continues to adhere to those concepts which provide its identity, whilst expanding upon knowledge and building upon past achievements. In every sense, a new age is regarded as “modern”
The question that necessarily arises is: how does one define or describe modernity? Is it modern to proclaim the supremacy of one particular idea – secularism, capitalism, communism, liberalism, and so on, – over all others? Is modernity associated exclusively with technological progress, sophisticated weapons, scientific advances, and material well-being? Is this how humans view current civilization?
The world has before it a model of modernity – The West. Other countries aspire to emulate their Western counterparts. Success is measured according to power and wealth, and the West has both in abundance. Some may question how such power and affluence were attained, and what methods are employed to maintain that position of dominance, but these questions are deemed to be irrelevant and unworthy, even reactionary.
The Western world is exceedingly modern – the definition of which it invented and applied to itself. Upon closer examination, however, it would seem that the portrait of enlightened civilization is not quite so pretty. People live longer, consuming and presuming more. New illnesses and diseases correspond to new patterns of thought, modes of lifestyle which are exclusively designed for the relentless pursuit of material comfort. Stressed, pressured and distressed – peace is certainly not a commodity that can be haggled over on the stock exchange, or purchased at the nearby supermarket.
Whilst systems of government in the West ensure a plentiful supply of earthly elements to their ever demanding masses, vast regions of the world remain in wretched states, wherein human lives are reduced to the bare minimum. A vivid contrast indeed. Wars are fought for control of the world’s resources, and yet people still die through lack of food and water.
Tall, broad structures, fast, speedy means of travel, great stores of information in the tiniest of places, would seem to suggest that modernity has arrived with a bang. In fact, the condition of humankind remains as dire as ever. These appear to be the Dark Ages, where everything – from knowledge and truth to compassion and love – are reduced to market goods, commodities with artificial value and no real worth. History repeats itself with the passing of time, because human beings are extremely repetitive. Thus, it may seem, superficially at least, that everything has changed and is shiny, new and modern, but in reality, nothing has nor will ever change. Modernity is but a myth.
Surah 41 Al-Fussilat, Verse 53
In time WE will show them Our Messages (through what they percieve) in the utmost horizons (of the universe) and within themselves, so that it will become clear to them that this (Revelation) is indeed the Truth. Is it not enough (for them to know) that your Sustainer is Witness to everything?

Mandy asks…
It is wrong to capitalize the w in white when referring to people? Other wise it means a pig / hog?
When w in white is capitalized, it apparently means some breed of pig / hog.
–noun
19. a color without hue at one extreme end of the scale of grays, opposite to black. A white surface reflects light of all hues completely and diffusely. Most so-called whites are very light grays: fresh snow, for example, reflects about 80 percent of the incident light, but to be strictly white, snow would have to reflect 100 percent of the incident light. It is the ultimate limit of a series of shades of any color.
20. a hue completely desaturated by admixture with white, the highest value possible.
21. quality or state of being white.
22. lightness of skin pigment.
23. a person whose racial heritage is Caucasian.
24. a white material or substance.
25. the white part of something.
26. Biology. a pellucid viscous fluid that surrounds the yolk of an egg; albumen.
27. the white part of the eyeball: He has a speck in the white of his eye.
28. whites,
a. white or nearly white clothing.
b. top-grade white flour.
29. white wine: Graves is a good white.
30. a type or breed that is white in color.
31. Usually, whites. a blank space in printing.
32. (initial capital letter) a hog of any of several breeds having a white coat, as a Chester White.
33. Entomology. any of several white-winged butterflies of the family Pieridae, as the common cabbage butterflies.
34. white fabric.
35. Archery.
a. the outermost ring of the butt.
b. an arrow that hits this portion of the butt.
c. the central part of the butt or target, formerly painted white but now painted gold or yellow.
d. Archaic. a target painted white.
36. Chess, Checkers. the men or pieces that are light-colored.
37. (often initial capital letter) a member of a royalist, conservative, or reactionary political party.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/white
Definition 32 is what I mean.
I mean w should be be capitalized mid-sentence, as in “….do White girls do this…..”.
“not be”, not “be be”

Forex Guide answers:
31. Usually, whites. A blank space in printing. That would explain the ignorance.

It would help if you told us what's wrong with it (what does it do, what do you want it to do), and I recommend you post the code on pastebin .com and post a link to it on Y!A. Because this is almost impossible to read.

I took the code that you posted on pastebin and re-posted it twice, once requesting syntax highlighting in HTML

Paul asks…
How can I set up an html page with a form that will post submitted forms to another page in my site?
I have a customer testimonials page on my site that includes a form. Right now when the user clicks 'submit' the inputted form content is sent to my email. I'd like to still receive emails when customers submit testimonials, but I'd also like the testimonials to automatically display on another page in my site. It would be ideal if I could somehow 'approve' the testimonials before they post on the page. I'm most comfortable working with html, but am willing to work with other languages if I have to. Any suggestions?

Forex Guide answers:
HTML is purely a markup language...it can "show" things, but it can't "do" anything. You will need to use PHP and SQL to achieve this. Instead of submitting testimonials to an e-mail, you would post the information to a PHP script. The PHP script would store the testimonial in a SQL database, mark it as "pending approval" and send you an e-mail notification. You could then either approve or deny it with another PHP script, which would change that status to "approved" or "rejected." Finally, a 3rd PHP script on the testimonials page would retrieve all database entries marked as "approved," automatically format them, and output them to the client.
That's the programming logic behind it, but I can't get into specific code here...it would actually be somewhat time consuming to write, especially if you wanted to include security features to avoid spam and hacking.
If you don't have a programming background, you might want to just buy (or find free opensource) a pre-made script for this purpose...check http://www.hotscripts.com/search/php/testimonials

William asks…
Deleting rows from mysql using php?
Hi
I have found this script that I want to use to delete rows in a database, it returns all the rows, makes a link but does not delete the row upon clicking the link, the data displays fine so there is nothing wrong with that its just when it comes to deleting. Here is the script:
<?
include ('config.php');
$connect = mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass)
or die ('Unable to connect to the database');
mysql_select_db($dbse) or die ('Unable to select database');
//If cmd is not hit
if(!isset($cmd))
{
//display all the testimonials
$result = mysql_query("select * from testimonials");
//run the while loop that grabs all the news scripts
while($r=mysql_fetch_array($result))
{
//grab the title and the ID of the testimonials
$name=$r["name"];//take out the name
$id=$r["id"];//take out the id
echo “$name – Delete“;
echo “
“;
}
}
?>
<?
if($cmd=="delete")
{
$sql = "DELETE FROM testimonials WHERE id=$id”;
$result = mysql_query($sql);
echo “Row deleted!”;
}
?>
As you can see the database details are stored on another file but that is irrelivant.
Thanks in advance
Here is the missing code:
echo “$name – Delete“;
echo “
“;
delete_monials.php?cmd=delete&id=$id’>$name – Delete
?cmd=delete&id=$id’>$name – Delete
Why this keeps deleting code I don’t know?
Hi
Thanks I will check that out, I am not too worried about sql injection as the script will make up a part of an admin panel so the public will not ever see it and the client doesnt even know what sql is lol
The problem is that when you click the title – delete, it does nothing at all, the id is present and correct when you hover your mouse over the link so I dont know why this would not work

Forex Guide answers:
… It keeps deleting since it shortens too long lines taht can’t be splitted in some splitting point, like spaces… Add spaces and it should go, but using a paste2, pastebin-like site to let us read it better is not a bad idea.
The (my)sql query
DELETE FROM testimonials WHERE id=$id;
is correct, provided that $id is defined ( like $id = $_GET['id'] ) [and exist a "column" named id with $id as value]
what’s the real question?

Mark asks…
I want to buy a treadmill for a beginning runner. What is the best choice for under $2000?
User is 6ft tall, 200 lbs and eventually wants to run in a marathon. A folding model would be ideal. Another issue that came up is irt assembly – What is a reasonable amount of time and/or how much can one expect to pay?
Searching online has come up with the Sole F80 and the Smooth 6.25 but there are so many testimonials / endorsements that one begins to question there validity. There is also a NordicTrack 4200 for sale in the needed price range.
I would really prefer to stay btwn $1200 and $1700 but I’m afraid that a machine in that range will break down within a year or two.
If there are any serious runners out there… Please help… Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Forex Guide answers:
The IFIT is a great treadmill and very affordable. Mine cost me about $800. But there are more expensive models. Mine has plenty of bells and whistles though. I have had my treadmill for several years and it hasn’t had any problems. Good Luck

Chris asks…
Colon Cleansers: are they a scam or a quick fix to getting healthier and speeding up your metabolism?
Most websites you find giving positive testimonials or good reviews to cleansers seem to be set up by the manufacturers themselves. Is compacted waste a myth? I have read that when a Dr. needs a patient cleared out before a colonoscopy they’ll give you what is essentially a strong laxative and your colon will be clean as a whistle so why the need for a colon cleanser? Why isn’t there more info out there debating the merits of cleansing if it is a scam and not “Doctor recommended”? It’s hard to come by negative reviews other than sites like Amazon in the user review section.

Forex Guide answers:
I don’t really know, but I do know that you don’t have to spend the big bucks for a colon cleanse. Just drink tea and eat fruits for a day or so. It will work and you won’t spend the big bucks.

Susan asks…
Can we make politics more civil?
Basically all the reactionary responses from some here shows our society is disgruntled in the time of a bad economy! Is the signs of extremism is prevalent based on comments?

Forex Guide answers:
The only way to make it more civil is to reduce the involvement of Republicans. They are loud-mouthed, adolescent, snot-nosed punks who have no problem trashing our economic recovery for political gain.
VOTE DEMOCRAT – SAVE THE MIDDLE-CLASS

George asks…
Republicans control the presidency, congress, and courts. Why do they still try to blame Dems for everything?
Conservatives have had control of the Congress and the courts since the mid 1990′s, and the White House for six years now. Shouldn’t everything be wonderful?
Why is it that some fundamentalist conservatives on this forum (and elsewhere) still manage to work themselves into a lather blaming everyone else for what is clearly the product of a Republican-run government?
Is it the need for someone to blame? Is it blind reactionary politics? Is it an unwillingness to take personal responsibility? Is it that loyalty has replaced reason? Why would anyone, Republican or Democrat, believe that any group other than the party in power should be held responsible for whatever failures occur?

Forex Guide answers:
Let’s see:
ECONOMY
The economy is doing the best in decades. The stock market is up. Unemployment is at its lowest level in years. Mortgage rates are historically low.
FOREIGN POLICY
Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and the Palestinian Territories have democratically elected governments. Castro is on the way out. Kim Jong Il is totally isolated. World opinion is completely against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons. India and others are fast becoming strong allies in the war on terror.
DOMESTIC
Abortion activists, enviro-wackos, extremist women’s groups, gay marriage activists, illegal alien advocates are all on the defensive. $110B has been allocated to Katrina relief (if the Democratic administrations in the State and City can get it distributed). Two conservative justices have been added to the Supreme Court. The Democrats are into whining, complaining and knashing of teeth mode, with no real ideas. The Bush administration is a leader in bringing women and minorities into government at high levels.
I’d say we’ve just about unraveled the mess Bill Clinton handed us.

Sharon asks…
Atheists, do you want more Liberal and moderate Christians mixing religion + politics to…?
counter the far right reactionary Christians?

Forex Guide answers:
I find it hard to believe that the religious sensibilities of liberal Christians do not already inform their politics.
As long as people don’t seek to impose their religious views upon the rest of the population, I don’t really care what book or creed they derive their political opinions from.

Michael asks…
What’s going on in this girl’s mind?
Well, I have been going after this girl for 4 months or so.
Before I told her I really liked her, we were good, we talked a lot and laughed at each other’s jokes and stuff.
We went to dance together, and that’s when I actually started acting different towards her, like as in more than a friend.
I told her I care about her a lot, and that I can treat her real well as if she was a princess. She said she’s not looking for a relationship like that.
I still care a lot about her, and I am still caring for her even now. I let her know that I care for her, too.
I am keeping distance, so she doesn’t feel too comfortable about me being too nice to her.
She seems.. reactionary, you know? She doesn’t initiate anything with me unless I initiate it, and even when I initiate it, I rarely get a good feedback.
She doesn’t seem like she understands how I am feeling when she acts like that.
Is it possible for somebody to be so uncaring and apathetic towards a person who cares for her so much?
I understand everything, but it just confuses me, because she blushes a lot and seems nervous whenever I talk to her.
She never had a boyfriend before, and she’s really shy, as soon as I can let her be open with me, I think I can work something out.
I don’t think I made any mistakes, I mean, in the past when we were “just friends” she obviously made it seem like she was interested in me. All my friends and her friends said that too.
To the dance also, her friends recommended me to ask her out, when I was unsure of it.
So the things don’t match back and forth, that’s why I am confused.
If she’s not interested, why her friends recommend me to take her, telling me that she talks about me a lot?
Why blush, and laugh, nervous when I talk to her?

Forex Guide answers:
Honestly, I do not think this girl thinks of you in that way or ever will. You can keep trying though.
You expressed feelings for her before you are even going out as anything more than friends. That is not good, it is scary to her. Maybe if you had done a little flirting and dated her for a while before getting emotional with her, that would be one thing. Never express feelings to her until she expresses them to you in my opinion.
My advice: chalk it up to experience and move on. Don’t make the same mistake again.

Maria asks…
Does Hamas represent the collective, majority will of the Palestinians?
If so, that is who the “quartet” must deal with to achieve anything. Will Hamas negotiate with the Israelis? Are they actually terrorists?
Hamas got a majority in parliament as the result of a protest vote. Most who voted for them did NOT expect them to get a majority, but simply wanted to give “notice” of some discomfort. they are “terrorists” and they are an ugly bunch of reactionary, fundamentalist, restrictive, extreme, narrow-minded, backward-oriented religious zealots. The present development for the Palestinians in a way includes the chance to overcome the total standstill which came about as a result of those parliamentary elections. It is often forgotten, that President Abbas also was voted into office in a democratic election. My support is with Fatah and M. Abbas… the more moderate of the groups!

Forex Guide answers:
In the most recent poll I saw, 49% of Palestinians would vote for Fatah and 42% for Hamas if elections were held today. I guess that means Hamas does not represent the majority, but pretty close to it. Further, Hamas may have been elected democratically, but that doesn’t make them anything less of a terrorist entity. They still indiscriminately kill civilians (both Israeli and Palastinian). Also, all because Hamas was elected democratically doesn’t mean the world has to deal with them; if England for example elected a prime minister who didn’t recognize America’s independence and openly called for reconquering the country, you can bet America would cut ties with them. Hamas refuses to recognize Israel, refuses to abide by previous agreements and refuses to cease terror attacks, and for that reason they were black-listed.
