James asks…
What is Best Forex Indicator?
I’ve been trading FOREX in a while, I used various inidcators such as MAs, Stochastic, MACD, RSI, and countless others.
However, none of them really works well for me in most cases.
MAs cross-over is hard to predict. Always fit better after the facts. For example, like MA (9) crosses MA (14) or MA (14) crosses MA (32) , I even tested many other flavors of MAs claimed offer faster and smoothier movements. Of course, if MA (9) didn’t cross MA (14) and failed to your expectation of the movement, MA (3) crossed over MA (9)…
Can you tell me other Forex trading indicators? What is best forex indicator?

Forex Guide answers:
There are three real-time moving indicators: Price, Volume, and of course Time.
Most traders focused on PRICE indicator and hundreds of other indicators derived from it, they miss two other important indicators – VOLUME and TIME. What moves the price? VOLUME and the forces driving the volume. How to see price movement? Over TIME. You need to observe Price, Volume, Time and their dynamic interactions.
The best Forex indicator (or for any other financial market) is Market Profile. More information on market profile trading can be found at:
http://www.squidoo.com/stock_technical_analysis
Or Google search “simple best technical indicator“.
Cheers!

George asks…
Hello, where can I find a reliable indicator for support & resistance levels when trading forex?
Thank you in advance.

Forex Guide answers:
You can work out pivot points yourself based on the previous days opening and closing levels.
Go to a site like babypips.com to get a formula or link for a MT4 download.
Depending on the platform you use – some have them built into the charts themselves.
Weekly and monthly pivot points are also very powerful.

Sandy asks…
How can I get a “forex charts software” that includes “Volume indicator”?
I prefer free or free tial software.

Forex Guide answers:
As far as I know there is no indicator on the volume of forex charts.
That is why banks and larger institutions have the upper hand on retail investors as they can see and hear about the large orders coming in whereas the retail investor is left out in the cold.

Ken asks…
In FOREX: Why does the MACD line appear to crossover MACD Signal line at different points?
Why when I look at the FOREX EUR/USD chart using the MACD indicator, the MACD line appears to crossover the MACD Signal line and be at different levels above or below 0.0000 when I view the chart in different time settings? For example, when I view the EUR/USD on a Daily chart the MACD looks to be below 0.0000, in a down trend, and crossing under the MACD signal line and when I view the same chart in a 15 min frame the MACD appears to be above 0.0000, above the signal line and trending upwards? Why is this?

Forex Guide answers:
Hi!! What a nice question!! Not everybody wanna know really how MACD works!!!
It will be different because MACD (Moving Average Convergence-Divergence) is calculated based on 3 Moving averages… Custom setting 12, 26, 9… Apply to the close… That means.. That it calculate the average of the close value of the last 12 bars periods or candles… Also the average of the las 26 candles and also the average of the close of the last 9 candles… Si the close of a bar on a 15 mintue chart is different that the close of a daily chart… Thats why the value of the moving averages are different!
If you wanna completely understand how MACD works you can go to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MACD

Chris asks…

Sorry, it is I will sell if the 5 indicators signal sell, 4 signal buy, not buy as I had mistakenly written above.

James asks…
I trade in the Forex Market using a MA Crossover. I need help on how to confirm that cross is one to enter.?
I trade in the Forex Market. I use a Liner Weight Moving Average Crossover. I have a 12 period and a 24. When the 12 crosses down through the 24 I have a signal to go into a sell. When the 12 crosses up through the 24 I have a buy signal. Where I need help is when my moving averages cross what other indicators or analysis can be used to help confirm that a crossover will be a good trade to enter on?? I would also like some help with finding out after the trade is in what to look for to see when its time to exit the trade?? Thank You

Forex Guide answers:
Trading is an art. There is no formula. Everyone successful trader develops their own trading systems.
From your question… I’d say you’re 3-5 years away from being successful (that’s actually average, for the few that succeed).
Spend more time on money trading management/risk control. In Forex 30% of your success is on Technical Analysis….. The rest is how you manage your trades.

Richard asks…
I seriously think I can make a fortune in forex trading?
Well i have been learning about stock trading for 6 years and have developed a good system. Forex is a little different. I started last january. i blew up within weeks because i was uing 400:1 leverage. i also wasent cutting my losses. Anyway through some experience i think i have it a ltitle figured out. What i have to do is wait patiently for a trend to form and act on it. I have about 500 in my account right now trading 50:1.. i cut my loses at 20 pips and let my profits run. until there is a reversal. ii incorperate the fibonacci retracement signals amounst a few ocilattors/indicators. I also keep an eye out on the news that would affect a currency pair. I have also read a few forex traders turning a couple grand into 10s of thousands their first year. I honestly believe this can be me.. can any experienced forex trader advise me?
uhh its actually a minus sum gamethe winner does not make all the money with slippage and commissions look up alexander elder.

Forex Guide answers:
Playing Forex can appear alluring, but the majority of people who try it lose money. All you have to do is do a web search on the words “Forex” and “lose” to see this is the consensus. You are being mislead by people who are trying to make Forex appear easy, when it is horrendously hard for people to make money in it in the long run.
You’ve already tried one strategy and you’ve blown up. You will probably find your new strategy blows up eventually too. Forex is a treacherous game.
Forex is similar to what we call a “zero sum” game. You are making a bet with someone else about whether a currency will rise or fall. For every winner there has to be a loser. The net winnings of everyone combined equals zero. If you are smarter than the average player, you may make money. If you are dumber than the average player, you are likely to lose money. Most of the people making the “bets” in Forex are highly trained professionals at banks and other institutions. You are unlikely to beat them at this game.
Actually Forex is not quite a zero sum game. It’s a slightly negative sum game as the Forex broker takes a small percentage each time in the spread. It’s a small amount but over a hundred trades, it ends up being a considerable amount of money. So the average player is likely to lose money, and remember the average player is a highly trained professional and probably smarter than you.
There is a lot of luck in Forex, and if you play it, you will have some periods of time where you make money. This is usually because you are having a lucky streak, not because you have suddenly become an expert Forex player. However, most people are unwilling to admit their success is due to luck. They become convinced they have a system that works, and lose a lot of money trying to refine it.
Further complicating the problem is the large number of Forex scams on the internet. Most Forex websites are of questionable honesty. You will find many people on the Internet that claim they made a lot of money using Forex. They are usually liars trying to make money. They will say: “Go to Forexcrap,com/q2347.” The “q2347″ is a signal to the Forexcrap site that you are being referred to them by “q2347.” If they sell something to you, “q2347″ gets a kickback. These coded signals can be hidden by different methods in the link. Other people will refer you to their own private website or blog for the purpose of trying to get money off you. Also there are a good number of trolls out there that like to pretend they are successful forex traders just for the fun of it.
I would recommend not trying to do Forex at all, unless you are a trained professional. It’s like playing poker with people better than you, with the house constantly taking a small percentage from the pot.

Ruth asks…
Forex EA needed – programmers wanted?
Hi,
Can someone help me with an EA that will open a buy/sell order if the price hits the previous candles high/low?
I use the h1 chart and would ideally like to be able to set stop loss, take profit and possibly trailing stop with the EA. Even more beneficial would be an option to set how many pips away from the previous high/low trades should be entered.
Thanks,
Rich.

Forex EA Generation 2 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
i need help in having more time of the trial version because I don’t want to waste money on buying it and find out it was all crap please can anyone tell how to extend the trial time or getting the program for free just to try it a little bit more so I decide to buy it or not THX

Forex Guide answers:
It’s take it or leave it there is no other choice.
Forex is about investing money and make profits, and i found out that the best investment i have done was getting some good EAs.
I have no idea about this one but there are some very good EAs online with good price 100$ to 300$. I have one that costs me 2000$ but i like it

Mandy asks…
Has anyone used EA for trading forex?

Forex Guide answers:
I have with success and failure. I dont like EAs because they are not server based. Two people running the same program can get vastly different results. They are unstable and rickety. That being said the basic idea of programming an entry is sound. Server based programs would be more stable and reliable and you can use the same algorithms (EAs). In the first quarter of next year at least two brokers will have stable server based execution systems and my conpany will pursue using them.

TRADING FOREX WITHOUT INDICATORS OR EA?
I hear from a lot of places that trading without indicators is the best way of trading. How does one do that though? Is there a software that just gives signals? preferably for metatrader???

Forex Guide answers:
YES THERE IS. Its the best forex system in the universe. Its the only way to trade without indicators. Its called the FX-AGENCY ADVISOR 2. I have heard a ton excellent feedback from it. All you do is follow signals and you don’t need a chart apparently. People seem to be making a lot of pips from the fx-agency forex signals. Here is their site

Forex Guide answers:
You might just as well look at that spam answer.
Consider, the people that trade commodities are some of the smartest in the world.
If you’re not in that exclusive group, you’re going to lose.
But hey, it’s your money.
Go give it away.
Wouldn’t you think that if what you want is possible, everyone would already be doing it?

Forex Guide answers:
There is no such thing in Forex best indicator or best strategy or best anything. No holy grails.

Betty asks…
Is there a Forex Trading indicator that shows “in real time” how many pairs are being traded?
Is it possible for one to manipulate the price of a currency pair by selling or buying a huge amount? I don’t want to buy a huge lot and the price goes down because my own trade made it go down. I don’t want my own trade to change the price trend because if I buy more than is actually being traded on the market, it more likely will go in the opposite direction I want it to go.

Forex Guide answers:
If you are placing your trades with a market maker, then large trades may have a significant impact. If on the other hand you are placing trades with a broker that is operating STP unless your trades are unusually large they will likely cause little impact.
Since the forex market has no central exchange, there really is no way to know accurately how many or what pairs are being traded globally at any given moment.

Robert asks…
what is the difference between forex indicator and forex signals?

Forex Guide answers:
Forex signals and forex indicator is one and the same. I pasted a link to a page where you will be more information about forex signals.

Daniel asks…

Laura asks…
How to do Forex? Hi dude! Good Morning?
Now I’m doing demo trading. I’m a new baby to this. Usually my order ends up in loss. Can any one help me when to enter and when to exit with good profits. Also please tell me which pair is good to trade and at which time( When to trade). Is there any good indicator is available?

Forex Guide answers:
Why don’t you learn how to trade form the experts. Analyze how they do their trades and try to do them yourself. Forex signals are good guides on knowing when to enter and exit the market.

David asks…
Problem with Forex Trading?
I am new to Forex and practicing using FXCM trading platform. Yesterday I bought 4 standard lots of EUR/CHF. the account balance at time of purchase was some 4000$.I slept at night after putting a limit order which was 15 pip higher than the value I bought. In the morning I saw the position is automatically closed giving me a loss of some $2000. I was shocked to see how the postion get closed automatically if i havent put any stop order.Any explanation of this cause is appreciated.

Forex Guide answers:
If the position was closed automatically without any stop or limit set, then it was most likely a margin call. If you were left with $2,000 in the account then the margin requirement for each 100k standard lot would have been $500 indicating a total margin requirement of $2,000. This leaves you with $2,000 in usable margin to guard against losses on your account. If the $2,000 goes to $0 due to losses on your EUR/CHF positions, a margin call will occur.
You can verify if the trades were closed due to a margin call by running a report on your account. Goto the top of the platform, click on the Report button, and run the report for the day the trades were closed. In the Close Position section at the top of the trading report, you will see a column titled Condition. If it lists MC as the condition for the closing order, that stands for Margin Call.
There’s also an explanation of the margin call feature on FXCM’s website here http://www.fxcm.com/execution-risks.jsp, scroll down towards the bottom of the page.
If that doesn’t answer it completely, I would recommend contacting client support since support available 24/7.

Chris asks…
Is this lady Scamming me? Does a worker in a FOREX company need to travel frequently? (or is she an escort?)?
A lady that I am writing to says that she works “in a FOREX Company and the company deals with currency trading and currency markets.” (that’s what she wrote).
She says that she works very hard and has very little time for herself and she has to travel frequently so she has very little time to read my letters.
I thought to myself this was a bit strange because I thought that FOREX trading was all done by computer, so why would one need to travel??
Then she wrote in her next letter this:
“I need to close my letter now as I
will neeed to wake up early in the morning tomorrow. The matter is that my boss sends me to
short business trip and I have already pack my bag. So I need to have good sleep.”
My friend tells me that this is a bunch of crap, that she sounds like a travelling prostititue. What do you think?
I am from Canada, the lady is from some place in Eastern Europe.
Then, 2 days later she wrote this to me:
“. Ok, I have just come back home yesterday in the evening and I was so tired that I took a shower and went to bed. Today I have working day and I have to write full report for my boss about my business trip. This is not so pleasant but this is my job. ”
No emotion, doesn’t sound like she even wants to talk to me. So why did she write to me the first letter in the beginning?
What do you think?
I have no idea where my friend got his idea about the “travelling escort” idea. I never thought that. But when he heard that she was from Eastern Europe, he commented that “they are all hookers over there!” And then he walked away.
I was a bit shocked by his remarks, but obviously his thoughts are common here in Canada, women from Eastern Europe are really looked down on, and not thought much of.
Sad, because they really are highly educated and intelligent people.
I did some research and FOREX trading is all done by computer. So there is no need for any travelling or any paperwork. That is when I began to wonder “WHY does she travel, if its not for her job?”

Forex Guide answers:
First off, If she is a Rep for a Forex broker than she probably does have to work/travel a lot. I trade Forex professionally and my Broker Rep (out of Switzerland) is constantly traveling to meet with clients all over the world. He will spend most of October traveling from one U.S. City to the next meeting clients. Also, the Forex market is open around the clock and so Broker reps work ridiculous hours. My Rep once answered a Skype message I sent him in the middle of the night. He woke up to talk to me.
Two, it doesn’t sound like she is very interested. The messages you posted from her seemed cold and uninterested. However, I’m no expert – I can barely read my own wife most of the time.

William asks…
Is a 10% annual return on a mutual fund a great investment?
My financial adviser recently suggest a fund that annually returns 10% It has a morning star rating of 5 stars and has a good overall look do you think that I should invest in the fund. What is another good investment and I don’t touch forex trading

Forex Guide answers:
If you read the fine print on any mutual fund prospectus, you will find there that “previous performance is not a guarantee for future results” or something that sounds like that.
Did your financial advisor disclose that they are going to get commissions if you bought into this 10% mutual fund investment? Some CFA’s who charge upfront fees will still get commissions from the mutual funds or other investments that they sell. In some investments that these CFA’s sell, they get ongoing commissions, year after year. Now who pays for these–the mutual fund, or you? You should be clear about this with them to rule out possible conflict of interest.
10% is pretty average (lame, IMO) return for a mutual fund. You need to ask if, considering the recent stock market situation, if this 10% return still exists. Some mutual funds do not update their funds’ performance until after a given period of time.
You mentioned that Morning star rated this fund as 5 stars and has good overall outlook. What does this mean? Good overall outlook based on what? Compared to what? Compared to a standard benchmark, how did the fund perform? Factoring in all fees that you, the investor will incur, what will be your expected returns?
What type of investments does the fund invest in? There are several fixed income securities that you can invest that pays 10%.
If you were to invest like everyone else, then the returns you will get will not fare better than every one else.
Good luck!

Ruth asks…
Which of these web businesses can I run with very little time?
I am a full time college student with a good chunk of money to play around with but not so much time. I have 1-2 hours each morning and maybe one more in the evening. I was thinking of starting a little ebay buisness, buying products wholesale and selling them on ebay, or I was thinking about taking a course on forex and then trading. Any other ideas?

Forex Guide answers:
I have personally been doing a bit of research on work from home companies for about 4 1/2 months now and i”ve run into quite a few good companies that you can do in your spare time and earn a stable income. People who work for these companies generally are college students, stay at home moms, retired persons, people looking for a second or third income. I have been scammed by a few companies as well I have all information posted on my blog for people looking to work from home I also have a list of companies to watch for. Most people think that if they charge a fee then its a scam but my research has proven to differ. Believe it or not most of the scams that I’ve been through were free to join you can view more info here
