The one i liked most was FXCM, i found that is was simpler to use than a couple others and has helped me to understand more about the market and try a few methods. But all the practice account give you a month unless you sign up.

Live and demo forex accounts have similarities and differences. Demos do not operate the same as a live account in all respects.
A demo’s interface will be the same as a live account. Meaning the operations of how to place trades and use the platform will be the same. The quotes you see for each currency pair will also be the same.
Where a demo will differ is in the execution. Demos cannot simulate slippage which is important for market, stop loss, pending, entry orders,etc. So I wouldn’t consider the demo to be exactly the same. The reason why demos don’t simulate this is because the orders are not being sent to the banks for execution or the brokers dealing desk which would determine the availability of liquidity at that moment. Your demo order is not competing against a live account order.

FXCM Demo versus real trading in forex?
I have been trading the FXCM Micro demo platform and have been doing well. I used to trade futures and was wondering if there is a huge difference in fills from the demo platform to real.

You shouldn’t see a significant difference in fill times or pricing between a micro demo account and a micro real account because of the small position sizes you are entering the market with. Depending on the broker once you start trading in excess of $100,000 you may say differences between demo and real accounts during certain market hours.

I think there is enough free educational stuff for the Forex on the internet to make you learn as much as you can before you engage into live trading.
I’m a Forex trader and I do make profits and a descent living out of it, but it took me a great deal of money (lost), psychological pressure, time and effort to learn this.
